Whale season in Samaná: 15 January – 31 March
Humpback whales return to Samaná Bay every winter from the North Atlantic. February and early March are usually the liveliest weeks, and the licensed boats leave from Samaná harbour, 13 km by road from Vista Mare. Whale-season weeks are the first to fill.
